Based on the R.A.D syllabus. The students learn age-appropriate classical dance techniques and exercises. Exercises are done at the barre, centre and across the floor, along with specialized dances and theory. The Royal Academy of Dance is the world’s largest examining and teacher organization for classical ballet. Yearly exams are offered.
Based on A.D.A.P.T. syllabus (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) Students learn the technique and set exercises using upbeat and fast paced music. This class offers students the bases to improve and excel in all areas of Jazz dance. Yearly exams are offered.
Based on A.D.A.P.T. and (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) B.A.T.D. syllabi. (British Association of Teachers of Dancing). Students learn the technique and set exercises using appropriate music. This class offers students the bases to improve and excel in all areas of Tap dance. Yearly exams are offered.
A specialized class for the students using their Pointe shoes incorporating barre, center and across the floor exercises.
A class where students can express their emotions and tell a story to different genres of music.
A fun and high energy class to express and bring the inner actor out of the students along with dance. An excellent way to bring children out of their shells and go beyond their personal boundaries. Dancing, acting and singing are taught throughout the year.
Classes are offered for beginners to advance levels, ages 2.5 to adult. Students will get to learn all the new and old school styles of Hip Hop. Students will learn popping, locking, house, b-boy/b-girl, krumping, tutting, waving etc. Combinations are done on a regular basis, to help grasp the style of the movement.
Popping is a party dance and Funkstyle. The quick tensing and releasing of muscles, often the arms,legs,back,chest and neck which creates a POP effect is popping. Locking is a funk dance involving a lot of pauses, wrist rolls, bounces, and points. Children will learn advanced Hip Hop techniques and tricks in these styles.
Creative Movement classes are offered to children ages 4 and 5 and are 45 minutes in length. This introduction to dance develops a child’s coordination, creativity and rhythm, through music appreciation, creative movement exercises, basic ballet steps and mime. After these programs the student is well prepared to enter Ballet, Tap and/or Jazz. Students enrolled in these programs will have the opportunity to participate in our Annual Performance.
This program is specially designed for children over 2. The 30 minute class focuses on creative movement, rhythm and basic ballet steps; which develops a child’s coordination, creativity and rhythm. The program is 11 weeks in length and runs in three sessions. Students enrolled in this program will have the opportunity to participate in our Annual Performance.
This is a class designated strictly for boyz only!! It’s the only ALL BOYZ PROGRAM that is taught by a male instructor. This class offers stretch & strength exercises along with Hip Hop, jumping, turning and tricks. Class size is limited.
Acro is a style of dance that combines dance technique with acrobatics or gymnastics type movements. The tricks performed in this class are typically taught on mats. Children will focus on strength and flexibility so that they are able to safely execute an Acro routine.
